I agree. Her name is synonymous with industry professional. I can't recall a time when I didn't see her name as standby, understudy, replacement, tour or regional star. A great career spanning decades.

CORRECTION: She closed Seesaw on B'way, she didn't take over for Kazan in Detroit

In reviewing her career on Ovtur (ever wonderful and reliable), I saw what I had heard decades ago: that Karr stood by while they fiddled with Seesaw, during/after Kazan was fired. CORRECTION: She did NOT play it "between stars". Apology. And she then stood by for Lee on B'way, played her vacation, and it looks like closed the show with Gavin. Apparently Lee never played the show in Detroit, and I have no evidence that Karr went on for Kazan
