The wonderful production starring Brent Barrett at Paper Mill Playhouse proved that the show, with a running time of almost 3 hours works.
The problems people usually refer to are the length, and the fact that Act 1 is a light romantic comedy, and Act 2 is a dark drama.
I think audiences have caught up with, and are more accepting of the darkness of the show.. |
