| Sarah Paulson will star as Nurse Ratched (of ''One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' infamy) in this new Ryan Murphy origin series. Cast includes Tony winners Cynthia Nixon, Sophie Okonedo and Amanda Plummer, plus Theatre World winners Finn Wittrock and Jon Jon Briones. (By the way, Paulson was Laura in the 2005 Broadway revival of ''The Glass Menagerie''; Wittrock played Jim in the 2017 staging.) |

| It's another Ryan Murphy mixture of high camp and high gloss, taking what would seem to be a sober setting - mental hospital and abusive nurse - and turning it into a playground for gleeful, nihilistic, abusive hedonism. The show will almost certainly be a complete, inappropriate mess, and people almost certainly won't care, because that's Murphy's entire oeuvre or brand and audiences love it. The music choice is ridiculous and borderline offensive, but damn does it (along with the highly saturated visuals) tell you exactly what to expect. |

| Unless this is universally acclaimed as brilliant - and it won't be - it's the last thing I'd want to see during these cruel, torturous Covid/Trump nightmare days. I'll just watch Bringing Up Baby and The Lady Eve for the 99th time. Do ya wanna have fun? Uh.....yeah!! |
