It's another Ryan Murphy mixture of high camp and high gloss, taking what would seem to be a sober setting - mental hospital and abusive nurse - and turning it into a playground for gleeful, nihilistic, abusive hedonism. The show will almost certainly be a complete, inappropriate mess, and people almost certainly won't care, because that's Murphy's entire oeuvre or brand and audiences love it.
The music choice is ridiculous and borderline offensive, but damn does it (along with the highly saturated visuals) tell you exactly what to expect. |
