| This is the first time I've noticed an obituary written by someone who died before the subject of the obit. I realize obituaries are written ahead of time, and this one may have been waiting for some time, given the age of Mr. Bentley. | |

| There was a Times Insider thing about it the last (a previous?) time it happened. | |

| Ann, it certainly isn't just Mel Gussow who has had obits published posthumously in The Times. But his may be the most frequent for(major)theatrical figures and, of course, Gussow himself was well known. So we know when we see HIS byline that he is deceased. | |
