| I liked O'Hara's performance in FAR FROM HEAVEN very much too, but I felt the emotional heft of the film didn't translate well to the stage. That was surely due in part to the lack of visual sweep -- the art direction and Ed Lachman's stunning cinematography are hard to beat -- and partially because I found the music forgettable. Of course, Elmer Bernstein is a tough act to follow. |
