Sing for Hope Announces Upcoming Schedule of Healing Arts Live Virtual Performances for Nursing Home and Senior Center Residents

Broadway Stars and a Famed Jazz Violinist and MacArthur “Genius” Award Winner Among Participating Artists

Sing For Hope’s Healing Arts Program Has Moved Online Due to COVID-19 Pandemic

New York, NY, August 13, 2020 — Sing for Hope today announced its upcoming schedule of Healing Arts live virtual performances for residents of its partner nursing homes and senior centers in New York City, New Jersey and Vermont. Among the participating artists are Broadway stars as well as acclaimed jazz violinist and MacArthur Foundation “genius” grant recipient Regina Carter. Sing for Hope’s Healing Arts initiative, which has moved to online-only amid the COVID-19 pandemic, brings the power of arts to those who need it most.

In addition to the aforementioned jazz great Carter, the lineup of Sing for Hope Artist Partners playing SFH’s concert series virtually includes Britney Coleman, seen on Broadway in Sunset Boulevard, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Tootsie and most recently in the 2020 revival of Company; Patrick Connolly, a high energy pianist, vocalist and entertainer; Lexi Merceron, an actress, arts educator and theatre veteran; Meg Zervoulis, a music director, arranger, educator and pianist who most recently served as the musical director of The Prom on Broadway; and Stephen Beasley, an accomplished musician who’s appeared in over 100 commercials, independent and feature films, web series and TV shows.

The artists will perform virtually for residents at Crown Heights Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation(Brooklyn, NY), The Wayne Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation (Bronx, NY), Barre Gardens (Barre, VT), Cedar Hill Continuing Care Community (Windsor, VT) and the Township of South Orange Village and SOMA 2 Towns for All Ages (South Orange and Maplewood, NJ).

The dates of the upcoming Healing Arts virtual performances are as follows:

Regina Carter (September 25)
Britney Coleman (August 11 and 14)
Patrick Connolly (August 25)
Lexi Mereron (August 12, 19 and 26)
Meg Zervoulis (August 18 and 21)
