| Yes you read that right. I doubt broadway will be up and running until late next year at this point. Hurd immunity won’t be practicable until next summer if a vaccine is available Jan 1. So adding more shows to the ones already opened wouldn’t happen until late next year. Why should 2019 shows, actors and creatives compete 3 years later. If I were eligible, I’d want to compete now and get the award instead of competing with fresh shows and my work forgotten. | |

| How are they competing? The shows are't playing. Voters aren't attending. This awards event on an unknown platform will pay tribute to some shows and actors but no one is competing cuz they aren't working at all. | |

| Isn’t it still competing in categories in the spring? Of course it is. And voters needed to see the show in The fall before it closed. The same standards are there especially cutting out WSS and North country which probably opened too soon to have voters see it post opening. Pretty much every show competing opened in the fall and voters should have seen it. I think it would be very unfair to have the shows and potential nominees compete in 2022 especially plays like inheritance and slave play which closed on their own and not shutdown by pandemic. They would not have been up and running in May 2020 or 2022. |
