| You could even post the whole original thread, if you wanted to and had the capacity to. Though it might push things here down QUITE a bit (unless you put it in a FAQ place or elsewhere, perhaps labeled "ATC Classics"), but anyway, its cheerful zaniness and lightness of spirit for the most part might be a tonic in these trying and turbulent times. | |

| I could do with some of his classic posts, gushing so happily over those hot guys in JERSEY BOYS. So much joy. I smiled at nearly everything he wrote. Laura |

| Prior to 2012, I only knew hitbycab via his posts on ATC. They were always funny and witty and made me laugh. In Jan., 2012 he posted that he was coming to New York to see Darren Criss in the How to Succeed revival and invited any posters who were available to join him for some lunch and theatre chat on Sat., 1/21/12 at the Majestic Deli after the matinee show. I remember Lynne-O, lowwriter, and at least a couple of other ATC-ers (whose names I can't recall) being there. Anyway we all had a great time talking about the shows we had seen while enjoying a tasty lunch. More importantly e-mails were exchanged and friendships were begun. We ended up staying at the Deli 'til around 7:30 PM when we each had to hurry off to whatever show we had tickets for that evening. I saw Stick Fly. In the years that followed, Cabbie and I made a habit of getting together for lunch at the Majestic whenever our New York trips coincided. In addition, for years we exchanged e-mails, at least once a month and sometimes once a week, keeping each other informed of stuff we had seen on stage and TV shows we enjoyed. Cabbie was a big fan of both Glee and the HBO series Girls. His e-mails were always filled with witty comments (his trademark "Irvin-isms" according to Lynne-O), which always made me laugh. After he was taken from us far too soon, I would re-read his old e-mails whenever I needed cheering up. Unfortunately most of them were on my work e-mail address. All of them were lost when I retired in 2018. I do still have a few of the last e-mails he sent to my home e-mail address. Unfortunately, they don't contain any "Irvin-isms", but I sometimes re-read them anyway. |
