| Another thing that viewing the show made clear is that the designation of Ben Fankhauser, who plays Davey, in the Leading category for the Tonys is completely absurd. There is no way that is a leading role. The show clearly revolves around Jeremy Jordan's character. Davey doesn't have a solo song (or even more than just a few lines here and there), nor does he have a dance solo. He has no real character arc or any significant subplot. It is a very fine Featured role, but putting him in the Leading category is a total head-scratcher. |
