| I never swore up and down that it would never happen. I said there was no reason to do it and that there was nothing to market. I still think it has nothing to do with marketing. It’s a chance to offer closure and recognition for the partial season. Most of the honored shows probably won’t return if/when Broadway returns next year. Also- I doubt enough people will watch these awards for it to have any impact. It’s just a chance to give someone like Danny Burstein a Tony Award and I’m all for that. |
