| I'm only half kidding, since I knew they'd start from scratch to attain verisimilitude. But the wall to wall red on stage was hard to sit with for an entire evening, and did nothing to capture the era. Or suggest the protagonist's life. These stills look very much like the flavor of the original (and still remarkably wonderful) movie. N.B. I was not a big fan of the Parsons Michael at the Booth -- he seemed one-note, and not always an interesting one, as perfectly cast as he was -- but suspect his performance for the camera might be far better. |
