Broadway.com recently did an interview with Aaron Lazar, a Drama Desk nominee for ''Les Miserables,'' about his latest project, ''Broadway Lullabies.'' He and his theater friends are recording showtunes reimagined as lullabies for kids. The interview includes a teaser of their first three cuts: Kelli O'Hara singing ''Goodnight, My Someone'' from ''The Music Man''; Corey Cott crooning ''River in the Rain'' from ''Big River,'' and Lazar offering ''Till There Was You'' (also from ''The Music Man''). Others who'll be joining this project: Adam Jacobs, Ashley Brown and Patina Miller.
For anyone who wants to support ''Broadway Lullabies,'' there's a Kickstarter campaign with rewards that ends Thursday (Aug. 27).
If they exceed their goal of $15,000, some of the proceeds will go to Broadway Bridges, which helps kids get to see a Broadway show.
(By the way, Lazar will play a minister in ''Filthy Rich,'' a soapy Fox-TV show; it debuts Sept. 21 and stars Kim Cattrall and Corey Cott.) |
