Be an Arts Hero, arts advocates
Posted by: Billhaven 05:24 pm EDT 08/25/20

I heard a fascinating presentation today on American Theatre's podcast "Off Script". The critics featured a grassroots arts group who has formed to advocate funding for arts workers across the country. It was founded by Brooke Ishibashi, Jenny Markham and Carson Elrod, who looked around and didn't see ANY arts leaders stepping up as advocates. They speak so passionately and intelligently about the economic and personal effects on our community that they reduced one the critics to tears. The discussion starts around 15 minutes in.
