| I rather liked the set for the stage revival. I'm a former director, and what interests me most in a set is not the decor but how it can be used by the actors. I was very curious how Mantello and his collaborators would handle the ground plan, since it isn't so easy to provide realistically plausible positioning for the large cast of this play. Mantello's solution was to center everything around that phone table, which I thought worked splendidly. And I had no problem watching all the red for the length of the play. |
