Thank you both for the clarification. I had assumed she was playing Evan's mother, which is a much larger role. But the film may be making significant changes. The linked article says that Danny Pino is playing Connor's stepfather, a role that has been "conceived specially for the film." So Cynthia Murphy may be a bigger presence in the movie.
I'm wondering if Connor's stepfather is replacing Michael Park's role, or if it's an additional role.
