Bravo Giovanni has a bright, enjoyable score but Forum's is far superior and should have been nominated instead. I would not argue with Oliver's Tony win.

No Strings has an excellent score. I prefer Loesser's score for How to Succeed, but I don't think the win for Strings is an outrage.

The real travesty IMO is in '51 when the Score Tony went to Berlin's Call Me Madam over Loesser's Guys and Dolls. For years various websites and Tony books mistakenly listed Loesser as the winner for '51. On early CD releases of both Madam and Dolls, the liner notes incorrectly stated the winner of the Score Tony for '51. I remember decades ago several posters on the Decca Broadway message board informed the moderators that their liner notes for both CDs were incorrect. The moderators were not pleased (to say the least).
