As I understand the rules, once there are nominees, someone will get an award. Abstentions don't make a difference. Though if there's only one nominee, the category isn't on the general ballot. It wins or doesn't in committee.
(And as has been mentioned a couple times, it's not the only eligible score. The category is "score written for the theatre," not "score of a musical.") |
