One CD I have been playing constantly recently is the 2016 Morbisch Festival recording of "Viktoria und ihr Husar", music by Paul Abraham with a libretto by Alfred Grünwald and Fritz Löhner-Beda. Opening in 1930 in Budapest it has everything - soaring melodies, comedy, tap, big dance numbers and (of course) a daft story. This is off the beaten track for me so I though I would give it a mention here in case others who might enjoy it have missed it. It's the kind of stuff "the man in the chair" would love. A full 74 minutes includes minimal dialogue and lots of dance music if (as with me) that is your thing. On the OEHMS label is can be found quite cheaply (in the UK anyway). I have ordered the DVD but not received it yet.
