| The trouble is a disparity between one reality - shootings are up by 50% this year - and another reality - New York has been experiencing its lowest levels of violent crime in nearly 70 years. So it's very easy for propagandists to focus on the first reality, and then build a nightmare story out of that, rather than attempt to educate people through a nuanced portrait that accounts for multiple facts. |
