I do think they will cut the song for movie - one of the weakest in the score, and I agree it's a weird way to start the show. But I don't actually think it mirrors the opening of N2N in any notable way.
I absolutely think the movie will want the singing to start with "Waving Through a Window". I wouldn't be surprised if they move "Anybody Have a Map" to the second song, in a new scene of the moms trying to communicate with the kids.. after all, Amy Adams CAN sing and that character has even less to sing than Evan's mom without cutting one of the song's she's in.
If it weren't for Requiem including Conor's parents so importantly, and "So Big, So Small" i would suggest they call all the parents singing and just have the kids sing. But i don't think that's the answer or what they'll do. But let's also not forget that they will DEFINITELY write a new song for the movie so they can get GG and Oscar noms for it, and give fans more reason to buy the film soundtrack. That will likely include a new song for Moore/Adams, and perhaps a rewrite of the dad's often maligned baseball glove song. Or more for Ben or Connor etc. |
