I found 'Spider-Man' and 'Scarlet Pimpernel' both 'pretty enjoyable'

To me, ''Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark'' 2.0 was really entertaining. And Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa did a terrific job rewriting the show. Too bad, ''Spider-Man'' didn't start off with HIS libretto. Reeve Carney was a wonderful Peter Parker, and it was exciting to see Spider-Man swinging around the theater. Plus, George Tsypin's towering and eye-popping sets and Eiko Ishioka's colorful costumes should've won the Tonys that year.

And ''The Scarlet Pimpernel'' was one of my favorites of that season. Douglas Sills was so funny and foppish in a Tony-worthy tour de force, and Jane Greenwood's costumes were a knockout. I adored Nan Knighton-Frank Wildhorn's astonishing score, which was full of rousing songs. I especially loved ''Storybook,'' a swirling and soaring waltz. (Tom Andersen turned that tune into a cabaret classic that earned raves from the songwriters, too.)
