I do envy you for that experience. I saw it at the premiere and then two more times: the now gone Paramount Theatre (Columbus Circle) and the Loews Village. Oh, and one more time at the late great 8th Street Playhouse. All times the audience was shockingly sparse, although they seemed to like it.
It's fun discussing this fun film all these years later. I wish TCM showed it more frequently. It's the only way it is remembered nowadays except for YouTube. I wore out my VHS copy, although Ebay is still an option for that. And there are "homemade" DVDs, but I shy away from those. |
