| Thanks for posting this. I first encountered Trouble in Tahiti as a Junior High student, on a double bill with Stravinski's L'Histoire du Soldat. I have always loved both pieces. I can sing all of Trouble from memory. To my mind the best recording is the very first one with Beverly Wolf as Dinah, originally on MGM records, and later Heliodor. A recent version from Germany with Kim Criswell is quite good also, but skip Bernstein's own as it is poorly sung. Can't wait to watch this later today. Do, da doah! |
