Paramount did release Stepping Out on both VHS and Laserdisc. I imagine that if sales had been stronger on those two formats, a DVD release would have followed.
Your devotion to Liza Minnelli is certainly admirable. I agree that she has proved herself an iconic performer and certainly a survivor. I'm a big fan of her best films, her stage and TV work, and her spectacular success in concerts and night clubs. I finally got to see her live on a Broadway stage in Liza's at the Palace -- it was a very rewarding experience.
Nevertheless, the movie industry is a business. A studio like Paramount can't spend huge dollars on a DVD release just to please possibly the few (hundred or so) loyal fans of a faded star whose box office appeal no longer existed. |
