Florence, Italy - Following the worldwide success of the live streaming productions of Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin, Hershey Felder: Beethoven and George Gershwin Alone, which raised vital funds for dozens of U.S. and international theatres and arts organizations, virtuoso playwright, performer and pianist Hershey Felder is pleased to announce his 2020-2021 season of broadcast productions. The shows, which will be newly created for the screen and then streamed live from locations in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France, are produced via the arts broadcasting company, Hershey Felder Presents - Live From Florence, with information available at www.hersheyfelder.net.

The 2020-2021 season will include the critically acclaimed hit shows, Hershey Felder as Claude Debussy in A Paris Love Story (premiering November 22, 2020) and Hershey Felder: Tchaikovsky (premiering December 20, 2020), both newly adapted and expanded versions of Felder's original works for the stage.

Felder will also create and perform in the World Premieres of Before Fiddler (premiering February 7, 2021), creating the role of the great Yiddish author Sholem Aleichem, whose works inspired the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof. This premiere production will also feature the dazzling Florence-based klezmer music ensemble, Klezmerata Fiorentina; Puccini (premiering March 14, 2021), about the scandalous life of the great Italian composer, Giacomo Puccini, and featuring music from La Bohème, Tosca, Turandot and more; and Anna & Sergei (premiering May 16, 2021), about the strange, true life meeting in New York between composer and pianist Sergei Rachmaninoff and Anna Anderson, the woman who claimed to be the sole surviving member of the Romanov Dynasty, the Princess Anastasia. This production will feature Rachmaninoff's most beloved melodies and music.

Each production will be live streamed and subsequently available on demand for viewers for one week after the premiere.

The season will also include two additional productions featuring guest artists, to be announced in coming weeks.

Since the start of the worldwide pandemic in March 2020, Felder has been residing at his home in Florence, Italy. With theatres across the United States shut down for this year and well into 2021, he came up with an idea to live stream his productions from Florence, with proceeds benefitting the theatres and arts organizations that have been his artistic homes in the U.S., as well as additional international institutions. The arts broadcasting company he founded, Hershey Felder Presents - Live from Florence, will present his own works, as well as other productions.

The Live from Florence productions of A Paris Love Story and Tchaikovsky are directed by Stefano Decarliand Felder, based on the stage plays directed by Trevor Hay. Production Design is by Hershey Felder. Film production and live editing is by the DeCarli Live film company. Live broadcast and Sound Design Production are by Erik Carstensen. Historical and biographical research is by Meghan Maiya. Costumes and Hair are by Isabelle Gerbe. Scenic Construction is directed by Pierre Gerbe.

An actor, pianist, writer, director, composer, conductor, and producer, Hershey Felder has created lauded shows about composers Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Fryderyk Chopin, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt, Leonard Bernstein, Irving Berlin, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Felder's solo shows have been seen across America at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, Geffen Playhouse, Pasadena Playhouse, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Hartford Stage, San Diego Repertory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Old Globe Theatre, American Repertory Theater, Cleveland Playhouse, and Seattle Repertory Theatre, with long runs at Chicago's Royal George Theatre and engagements at New York's Town Hall, 59E59, and the Streicker Center and more as well as Broadway's Helen Hayes Theatre and in London's West End. He has also created and/or produced plays for other artists including the award-winning The Pianist of Willesden Lane for Mona Golabek, Flying Solo for Nathan Gunn and Louis and Keeley Live at the Sahara for Vanessa Stewart and Taylor Hackford, among others.

featuring Klezmerata Fiorentina

Before the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof there was Sholem Aleichem and his beloved character of 'Tevye the Milkman.' Before the beloved songs, "Tradition," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker" and more, there was music of the old world… a music that imitated talking, laughing, weeping, and singing, where musicians didn't just make music, they spoke to you in song - Klezmer. In Florence, Italy, one of the oldest artistic centers in the world, a group of such musicians have been by day, virtuosos in Florence's world famous Maggio Musicale symphony orchestra; by night, they are the Klezmerata Fiorentina…with their ancient European roots and Hershey Felder as their storyteller, playing an array of characters and music from the "Old World," from a Tevyeh, to a Yenteh, to a Rabbi, to a newlywed daughter, to many more.
