Too young to have seen the original production in the 70s, but it didn't play long in NY.

I did see the revival in 2000 at Circle in the Square with the original revival cast. Tom Hewitt was great as Frank-N-Furter as was Dick Cavett as the Narrator. Raul Esparza made an electrifying Broadway debut as Riff Raff. He has some good production shots on his personal website. Overall, it was a fun/campy night in the theater. They didn't let the audience participation stuff bog anything down in the performance I saw. You can see clips of different performances on Youtube where someone is saying and doing every call-out imaginable, and I would think that would get old if you were sitting near it.

I felt the only weak link was Joan Jett, who acted like she didn't want to be there. There was some backstage drama around her time in the show, though I don't remember if I knew that before I saw it.

Later in the run, they had a series of guest narrators. I didn't see any of them, but I'm surprised/amused to see Gilbert Gottfried on that list. Did anyone see him?
