And, indeed, the entire cast from the Old Globe production either did not continue to New York or had roles reassigned. Most notably, Bernadette Peters replaced Ellen Foley as the Witch. I saw the production but can't recall at what point in the run I saw it. Act 1 was brilliant, and Act 2 was a mess. There was work done on it during the run, and apparently, the song, "No One is Alone" was added in San Diego. I remember that Act 2 was much different when I saw later productions.
