A year or two after a moved to the city in the mid-90's, I ended up with a free pair of tickets when the play was at its former location in the theatre that was above the old Howard Johnson's. It was bad. The play was bad and the theatre was bad. (there was no raking in the audience, so as soon as someone sat down, they disappeared). In fact, it was so incoherent, that the program included a phone number you could call that had a voice mail where you could leave your name and address and they would send you a synopsis and an explanation of what happened.
I returned to see it a few years ago at The Theatre Center (free tix again) thinking that there's no way it could have been as bad as I remembered. It was. We left at intermission. |
