That tour starring Tommy Tune was probably the best production of BYE BYE BIRDIE any of us are likely to see. It was pure joy and primary colors. I caught it in Philadelphia when Ann Reinking was still playing Rosie. She was SO good and I was pleased to have seen her in this unlikely role, even though her casting necessitated cutting "Spanish Rose" and all the references to the character being Spanish. It still worked and it was great to two star dancers doing their thing in a show that had never before been about the dancing.

And the featured cast was sublime: Marilyn Cooper, Marc Kudisch, Susan Egan, Belle Callaway, Jessica Stone, Steve Zahn, Paul Castree.
