Lenora Nemetz had taken over the role of Rosie when the tour played the Kennedy Center. Lenora was excellent as was the entire cast. Marilyn Cooper was hilarious as Mama Mae Peterson and a scene stealer. My first time ever seeing Marc Kudisch on stage who was perfectly cast as Conrad Birdie.
I saw Bye Bye Birdie at a sold-out matinee. I sat front row center. I enjoyed talking to several orchestra members in the pit during intermission. I remember inquiring if this production was headed to Broadway which it was not. |
