She went on to write [referring to the one-performance cut of "Meadowlark"], "After that, 'Meadowlark' became a test of wills between them [Merrick & Schwartz]--it's in, it's out/in/out." In other words, she never said in her memoir that the song had been dropped from more than one performance, but rather that it continued to be a bone of contention between the producer and the song writer. She also wrote: "It's a beautiful soaring ballad, but at seven minutes plus, it was way to long." |
