| If you ask the average person who wrote wicked, they couldn’t answer. Who wrote Oklahoma or sound of music. Most could answer. Kander and ebb name probably not so much as Sondheim—especially since Into the woods is a staple in schools so kids learn his name. I think cabaret and Chicago will be still be performed like wicked. I think Rodgers and Hammerstein copyrights will start expiring in the next decade or two and there will be surge of their shows by local companies. |
