| Sing for Your Supper from The Boys From Syracuse may be the ultimate. I don't know how many false endings there are there. Fortunately it's a great song. Decades ago I did a production where I played the character who comes on after the song. During a rehearsal I entered and improvised, "Stop! Before they sing again!" The director insisted I keep it in. |
