so if there are any benefit performances (on-line) for theater companies, non-profits, charities, your alma mater, etc. that you can spare, it's something you might consider. Of course, check with that group to be sure it qualifies for the tax deduction if you're counting on that benefit. I think this might reduce income, rather than the tax itself, but anything that encourages charitable giving is a good thing. Political contributions are not deductible though. Posting about finances and social security on a thread down below got me thinking about this today. I don't know if this particular deduction will be available next year, but it's worth checking out. |
