Karen Ziemba is a wonderful talent but might be a better fit these days for Mrs. Paroo in the delayed Hugh Jackman "Music Man" than as Molly Brown - due to her age and lack of star power. That conversation with the ENCORES! people was in 2002 just after Ziemba did "The Pajama Game" and Reba had done AGYG in 2001. Sutton I think can pull off Molly Brown still and has TVQ from "Younger" and other television projects. Ideally, someone like Amy Adams might be interested - I would say Carrie Underwood but she is a stiff limited actress and has no stage experience.

I think ENCORES! should do THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN, WILDCAT! and GOLDILOCKS but should not plan around Reba McEntire. HELLO DOLLY! and CALL ME MADAM have been seen in NY recently. Ditto MOLLY BROWN Off-Broadway. Of the titles suggested for revivals, "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" seems the most popular and practical choice for Reba and another country star like Keith Urban or Billy Ray Cyrus could do the Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd role.
