The Second Quarto is the basis for most modern editions of Hamlet because it is the fullest text. And the Folio is usually referenced to resolve possible typos and odd word usages.
A conflated text is usually used where the texts diverge more (such as in the case of Lear). But other than the cuts in the Folio, the texts do not differ that much. |
