| I have to say this really bugs me. For the three years I was a Tony nominator, several of us tried to get the Best Score split into two categories, inasmuch as the requirements for a score for a musical are very different from the requirements for a background score for a play. So, to nominate these shows for best score without some sort of disclaimer seems to me that the Tony Executive committee is grasping at straws. If there isn't a show that is worthy of a best sore nomination, there should be no nomination. It isn't the Nominating Committee that chooses which shows are eligible; we only voted for the eligible shows that were presented to us. Rant over. |
