Mr. Law and Ms. Coon are Oscar material in this film, Coon especially a revealation looking glam in a Cate Blanchett type of turn. Miss Reid scores in one important scene...she could always pull a Beatrice Straight. I did indeed see THE MOTHER she was great in that. She's been singing in cabaret in recent years. Small films can certainly make out at the Oscars...remember Jessica Lange in the little seen BLUE SKY? I'd forgotten that NIGHT MUSIC won over totally snubbed NY NY(not even costumes, or Liza or the song!)Totally agree about BROKEBACK.

Another new film in theatres AND streaming with theatre folk is JUNGLELAND...90 year old John Cullum has one outrageous scene as does Jere Shea(one non-outrageous scene)
