| It's a memory play. She can be any age. The strongest production I've seen of the play had a middle-aged woman who brought so much wisdom to the role. Don't be so literal and ageist. |

| What's most annoying to me about this production is not the age of the two leads but the fact that they have already shown us their (very fine) take of the play. It would be much more interesting to see OTHER actors and directors take a shot at this play. I feel exactly the same when James Lapine revisits the same material again and again instead of letting different artists explore the material. With freshness and a differing point of view. | |

| Perhaps you'd be happier with documentary films than live theatre? | |

| "The role of L'il Bit was originally written as a character who is forty-something. There is a great deal of flexibility in age. Directors should change the age in the last monologue to reflect the age of the actor who is playing L'il Bit." – Paula Vogel's production notes. really. |
