The Emmys are more like the Oscars, except I feel like they're even more of a peer award. In the Oscars, the various disciplines (acting, writing, sound, etc.) vote in the nominations round, but the full membership can vote in most categories in the vote for the actual awards. At the Emmys, both the nominations and final voting rounds are discipline-based. Other than the program awards (Comedy Series, Drama Series, Variety Series, etc.), where all members can vote. |
