| Hamilton have changed their Broadway marquee to show “2021” on either side with the 0 being the Hamilton silhouette on a star. I hope with these promising vaccines that they will be back then!!! It cheered me up on a walk just now where I noticed so many more places closed down for good including my local Lenwich on 9th, the Deli a couple of doors down from it and even that giant McDonalds on 42nd next to Aladdin. | |

| The McDonalds on 42nd Street closed when they opened their new "flagship" location on Broadway at 45th Street. While you can still see the lobbies, Madame Tussaud's, Ripley's and the Hilton are also closed on 42nd Street. In fact, I don't know if anything is actually open on the south side of the street between 7th & 8th Aves. | |

| The 42nd McDonald’s was scheduled to close before Covid-19. | |

| Ah okay, thanks! I was thinking the lack of tourists killed it. | |

| What's going into the McDonald's space? Pre-pandemic, it was always jam-packed. If it was not profitable pre-pandemic, that's surprising. | |

| Its closing because they opened the one in Times Square. Though I'm pretty sure it has less capacity than the one on 42nd Street did. | |

| The one on 42nd Street was a theatre at one time, wasn't it? Maybe it could, one day, become one again. | |

| The theatre that was on the spot was the Candler, later the Sam H. Harris. The auditorium was demolished in 1996, I believe to make way for space for Madame Tussauds. All that remains is a little trace on the facade on the Candler Building where the entrance used to be. | |
