There are so few Meryl Streep movie musicals. Too bad we can't get a sneak of one of her numbers in this film. I am assuming she has at least ONE solo. I am not overly familiar with the source material.
I must admit though that I only saw her in MAMMA MIA on Fire Island during a storm. This was in Cherry Grove under a roof. What a godawful movie but she was great.
I redeemed my lack of Streepworship by paying to see INTO THE WOODS on opening day. The Ziegfeld, of course, I think. It definitely was not Fire Island. Since it was snowing. Details are fuzzy, we'd had a little brunch (a Sondheim movie!) You know how it is.
Here's to the Ziegfeld. And more Sondheim movies. And many more Meryl musicals.
