| If you've never seen/heard this legendary mash-up of people, well, happy holidays indeed. 1989. Produced by the Pet Shop Boys. |

| Closer To Heaven. it flopped in London in the early nineties and is a guilty pleasure. I love the score, as well as the pop versions on the PSB album Nightlife. Recommended. | |

| I remember watching Closer to Heaven at the Arts Theatre. I had such high expectations. I remember at the interval being somewhat disappointed, and then I saw Neil Tennant speaking to the director and I was too much in awe to say anything to him. Once the cast album came out, I was hooked...and now I can't even begin to remember what I didn't like. I've managed to miss the revivals, and also the one-woman show "Musik" starring Billie Trix (one of the lead characters in Closer to Heaven). I'd love to see this again, along with Musik. I continue to enjoy the music, including the PSB versions, the cut songs, and the extended versions. And back to the original topic, "Results" is a gem. This is a good reminder it's time for me to revisit this. |

| If I was aware of this, I had forgotten all about it. NIGHTLIFE is a top-notch album especially if you're into PSB. I'm intrigued now. | |

| Thanks for the flashback to my club going days. They used to play this on the walls of the dance floors and everyone would get up and dance. It was always a sure thing. | |

| This masterpiece album (RESULTS) came out just as I was hitting my NY/Fire Island stride (I had moved here in late 1984, from Podunk). I will forever associate RESULTS (esp. this song) with those glory days. It's one of the best things she's ever done, in any medium. It's never gotten the respect it truly deserves. Not a SINGLE Grammy nomination. This was the beginning of the end of my interest in the Grammys. And you are sure right about the "sure thing." It was surefire in those days. People yelled in delight (and probably other things). I loved it. A great time to be gay, alive and in shape. Woo hoooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!! And of course, in New York. |

| "alive and in shape"... um. what a disgusting attitude to have, and especially to put "in shape" in the same thought with "alive" at the height of the AIDS epidemic. I really don't even know what to say. |

| Perhaps you are not old enough to long for days when you were more healthy and fit? For me, I long for the Halcion days of decades past as time steals more and more of my wind. I don't think the OP meant the offense you have taken. |

| The entire album is great. I think of it as a Pet Shop Boys album with vocals by Liza, as opposed to a Liza album. A wonderful and unexpected collaboration. Very much the PSB sound. The PSB demo (sans Liza) is interesting and a bit frightening! Link below. |

| Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. It waa a brave move on her part that could have backfired. Happily, exactly the opposite has occurred, as RESULTS has been remastered (lavishly) and retains its own cult to this day. | |
