Happy "Turkey Lurkey Time" since it's the closest we've got to a Thanksgiving song!

There are so many Christmas and Holiday songs but nothing has really caught on for Thanksgiving. So let Miss Polanski of Accounts Receivable, Miss Wong of Mimeograph and Miss De La Hoya of Petty Cash do the dancing and celebrating for you, along with the cast of 1969's "Promises, Promises" and Michael Bennett's incredible choreography! Always a pleasure to see again!

Very funny but it would be only a puzzling mess without the brilliance of the original! Happy Thanksgiving!

Incredible number. McKechnie is simply amazing.

Another enjoyable Thanksgiving Day number is "The Big Clown Balloons", which is a tribute to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from the Broadway musical Here's Love.

There are probably some worthy Thanksgiving songs in the Pocohontas film musical.

In the 1953 musical film By the Light of the Silvery Moon Doris Day sang "Ain't We Got Fun" while helping her mother (Rosemary DeCamp) and their housekeeper (Mary Wickes) prepare the turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

This is always such a pleasure to watch. It was shocking to me that Rob Ashford threw this number away; I love that Michael Bennett knew his dancers and how to build an amazing number for them.

That number never bores me!

That and the equally ebullient “We’ll Take A Glass Together” are probably my all-time “feel good” numbers. Watching them never fails to raise my spirits.

That song is the main reason I always play GRAND HOTEL while I’m working in the kitchen on Turkey Day.

Here's a clip. I saw this on Broadway. He stopped the show. Cold.

Great idea! My mom and I used to always have a glass of wine while getting the turkey and fixings ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I usually did the carving. Pinot noir was generally my choice of libation.

My mom always made both a turkey and a roast pork for Thanksgiving. On Christmas it was turkey plus a roast beef. Regarding music pre-dinner, I usually opted for the soundtrack to The Miracle on 34th Street at Thanksgiving; however, Grand Hotel is also a great selection.

It also has a lot of bouncy songs to help keep this tired body moving all in the kitchen. And I inevitably get “Love Can’t Happen” stuck in my head for a week, like the Baron is taking up residence in my head!

THE BAND’S VISIT has joined the Turkey Prep playlist as well.
