Delighted & grateful you posted this - THANKS! Was about to post how I watched YENTL last night for the first time (TCM has it on demand through sometime today) & adored it...was sad to read that Isaac Bashevis Singer, the author of the original story, hated it. The whole cast is wonderful (we even get Steven Hill as Amy Irving's father) & Streisand does a beautiful directing job...& the score!!!!!!

They had their knives out for Babs in 1984 to a ridiculous degree; the movie has aged beautifully.

This was another biggie I was fortunate to see at the Ziegfeld in NYC.

Opening weekend.

The audience creamed.
