It has a lot of impact in the theater, each time I've seen the show live one can hear a pin drop about half way through it--it captures the audience that well.
I think part of the reason is exactly because it IS a monologue (with no underscoring). It stands out because it's different from much of the show, which is either sung or underscored - but this is neither. (Same with the Cassie/Zach scene). |
