| Well, the OBC would have been recorded for vinyl and (maybe?) cassettes. They couldn't even get all the music on the original album. I'm not at all surprised that they didn't want to take the time to record the monologue? Which five minutes of music would you delete from the album to include it? The ASSASSINS comparison doesn't really work because the entire finale of the show hinges on that scene and the entire album would not have the impact that it does without it. Aside from the fact that ASSASSINS came along in the age of the CD, losing the monologue from A CHORUS LINE doesn't really impact one's experience of the album. You still get it. You just don't get much of Paul's story, just as you don't get much of the stories of many of the other characters. |

| I was only partly referring to the original album... i also said the revival, which was fully in the time of CD and digital, and could have fit it on if they chose to. Maybe it was about the cost of the time to record it. But honestly if they'd give him 3 takes it would have taken 1/2 an hour, and they just take the best one (as if it were a live performance he was doing 8 times a week) if they don't wanna pay for the time to edit them together. I mean i'm okay, i've seen the show 10 times, i know what the monologue is. But it would be nice to have it recorded, and i know if I were playing Paul and my big story in a musical was done in a monologue and not a song like most of the other characters, I'd sure have loved to have it recorded for the world at large to have access to. That kind of thing can be pretty world-changing to your legacy as a performer and ability to build fans etc. I know they don't make decisions about what to record based on that, and as a record of the *SCORE* of the show, the album(s) are not missing anything by leaving that out, and the story of the show doesn't at all depend on having it there on the album. But still. Would have been nice, even if just on the far less noteworthy revival album. |

| The highlight of ''Every Little Step,'' the 2008 documentary about ''A Chorus Line,'' is Jason Tam's moving audition for Paul. Since then, he's chalked up about a half-dozen Broadway credits. Jason's so talented and I can't wait for him to score his big breakout. |

| I personally didn't find his performance all that moving. He didn't cone across as authentic to me (i.e., it was very obvious that he was acting). | |

| Fortunately, for Jason, he moved his auditioners to tears and landed the role in the ''Chorus Line'' revival. Good for him! | |

| Yeah Jason is very talented, not to mention very handsome. I am surprised he hasn't had a break out role in a Netflix show or something like that to put him on the radar of a broader audience. | |
