I think that's Cariou. Same nose, same chin, long face. Doesn't look like to me Walter Charles.
I think the reasons why he looks a bit different here are the eyebrows are different and he isn't wearing the death-white makeup and he's lost a bit of weight during the months he'd been doing the show, which often happens. The odd thing is that he looks taller than Lansbury but still I think it's Cariou. And in at least one article about the commercial, he is mentioned.
Tony Roberts went into They're Playing Our Song in mid-December 1979. I'm guessing that they reshot just that part. I wonder if they're really in Times Square or if that's perhaps a rear projection (whereas every other sequence is clearly not rear projection). |
