| He has said it in interviews, but I believe he was referring to the rigors of doing a Broadway musical live 8 times a week. He might feel differently about being in a musical film. | |

| That could be. My recollection (or maybe my assumption) was that he wanted to recalibrate the way he was perceived. | |

| If that is the case, he couldn't have chosen a better project than PENNY DREADFUL: CITY OF ANGELS. Although it was cancelled after its single season this year, it provided Lane with the opportunity to do, arguably, his finest work on screen. He is so good in this show. I hope all the right people noticed, even if it wasn't the ratings bonanza that I'm sure Showtime was hoping for. | |
